It seeks to stimulate the potential of the cultural and creative sector and its contribution to the socio-economic development of ACP countries. With a budget of € 40 million, the programme focuses on: (i) fostering entrepreneurship and cultural and technological innovation, as well as the participation of young people; (ii) creating new jobs and increasing the income of artists and cultural professionals; (iii) improve the quality of ACP cultural productions; and (iv) enhancing the value of ACP cultural productions and artists on international markets.
In his position of Team Leader of the Technical Assistance Unit, Gian Giuseppe Simeone is coordinating the daily management of the programme in close liaison with the teams in charge at OACPS and the EU. Alexis Castro provides specialized support in the collections data and monitoring the results of the projects supported in the 6 ACP regions.
The main tasks performed by the Technical Assistance Unit are the follow-up of the grant contracts with the implementing partners, the communication and visibility of the programme’s activities, and the collection and sharing of knowledge through studies and reports.
